In the fall of 2012, I will be joining the faculty in the Biology Department at Adelphi University. I am looking forward to sharing my love of physiology with new students and amazing colleagues, and developing new collaborative research projects!

I will be teaching physiology and biology courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and starting my own research laboratory. Contact me if you are interested in pursuing a masters in my lab or if you would like to develop a collaborative project.

My friend and colleague Dr. Alison Davis Rabosky had her dissertation work featured in the news.  She demonstrated that the desert night lizard, Xantusia vigilis, aggregates in social groups of related individuls.  In other words, this is a lizard that forms family groups!

Read the Discovery article  or  msnbc article.

Dr. Davis Rabosky has shown that the lizards gain fitness benefits from these aggregations, and she and I collaborated to investigate the thermal consequences of this behavior in the lizards.  Stay tuned for those results!
